5052 aluminum plate is an AL Mg alloy aluminum plate, and magnesium is the main alloying element in 5052 alloy aluminum plate. It is the most widely used anti rust aluminum. This alloy has high strength, especially fatigue resistance, high plasticity and corrosion resistance, and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It has good plasticity during semi cold work hardening, low plasticity during cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability, and can be polished.
Chemical composition of 5052 aluminum plate
5 series aluminum alloy is a non heat treatable strengthening alloy, but its hardness is higher than 1 series 3 series, so 5052 belongs to the medium strength aluminum alloy category. 5052 is a typical alloy in the Al Mg system. Compared with the common 5083 in the same series, 5083 has a higher magnesium content (nearly twice that of 5052), resulting in higher strength and better corrosion resistance, making it more suitable for ship plating. However, a high magnesium content can affect the oxidation effect. The surface treatment of 5052 is better, and it can be made into various bright and colorful surfaces, making it very suitable for making various decorative panels.
Mechanical property
The 5052-O state is relatively soft and has a high elongation. Therefore, if the 5052 thin plate needs to undergo mechanical processing such as bending and deep drawing, the O state can be selected. Otherwise, other states can be chosen. Among them, 5052-H112 is more widely used.
Processability analysis
1) Corrosion resistance: 5052 has excellent corrosion resistance and is a typical rust proof aluminum.
2) Weldability: 5052 aluminum alloy has good friction stir welding performance, dynamic recrystallization occurs in the weld zone, and the weld crystal is refined. The weld can achieve 0°C~180°C. Arbitrary bending and optimizing process parameters can make the strength of welded joints reach or exceed that of the base material.
3) Surface treatment: The 5 series magnesium aluminum alloy can be anodized, and the oxide film is easy to form. The quality of the film is also good, which is more suitable for oxidation coloring. When the magnesium content is high (such as 5083), its brightness is insufficient. The magnesium content of 5052 is about half of that of 5083, which can be well oxidized. The treated surface has high brightness and can be well colored.
