Product Introduction

Thick aluminum foil is aluminum foil with an aluminum thickness of 0.1-0.2mm. Thick foil is thicker and heavier than household aluminum foil and exhibits better durability and corrosion resistance.

According to thickness, aluminum foil can be divided into double zero foil, single zero foil and thick foil. Double-zero foil refers to a foil that has two zeros after the decimal point when its thickness is measured in mm (i.e. thickness <0.01mm); similarly, single-zero foil refers to a foil that has one zero after the decimal point when its thickness is measured in mm. Foil (0.01mm≤thickness<0.1mm); thick foil refers to aluminum foil with a thickness between 0.1mm and 0.2mm.

1. Micrometer: One of the most accurate ways to measure aluminum foil thickness is with a micrometer. A micrometer is a precision instrument for measuring small distances. Place the aluminum foil between the measuring surfaces of the micrometer and gently close it until it makes contact with the foil. Read the measurement shown on the micrometer, which will indicate the thickness of the foil.
2. Calipers: If you don’t have a micrometer, you can use a digital or analog caliper to measure the thickness of your aluminum foil. Open the caliper and place the foil between its jaws. Gently close the jaws until they lightly grip the foil. Read the measurement displayed on the caliper to determine thickness.
3. Manufacturer’s Specifications: Another way to determine aluminum foil thickness is to refer to the manufacturer’s specifications. Most foil packaging or product labels provide information about foil thickness. Look for thickness measurements in microns (μm) or mils (thousandths of an inch) on the package or label.
